A sok évig használt reszelőszögem, amin a tárgyaim formálódtak, amivel a fizikai kapcsolatom napi szintű volt. Elreszeltem, megcsiszoltam, befoglaltam.

The bench peg I used for many years, upon which all my creations were formed. I had physical contact with it daily. I filed it, burnished it, and mounted it.

Cipruson vettem ezt a votívot, 3 éve, korábban már Görögországban láttam templomnál, szobroknál kifüggesztve: a hívők imáinak meghallgatását ilyen tárgyi felajánlások kísérték. Akkoriban aritmiás zavarom volt. Máshol színes szalagokba, anyagokba varrt fohászokat is láttam. Néprajzos múltammal úgy gondolom, hogy egy evolúciós folyamat tárgyi bizonyítékai ezek a votívok, antropológiailag nem tartunk ott, hogy ne imádjunk bálványokat, emberi szükségletünk. Nem fér össze az egyház szellemével, pogány maradvány. Az ortodoxok a gyógyulást kérve, a katolikusok meggyógyulást köszönve helyezik el.
Egy belső szerv kívül. Jól esik ránézni. Kapcsolatom van a belső szerveimmel.

I bought this votive offering in Cyprus, 3 years ago. When I was in Greece years before, I had seen them in churches. The faithful leave them there in the hope that their prayers will be heard. I was having an irregular heartbeat at the time. I saw people leaving colorful ribbons and small objects sewn into cloth as well. As an ethnographer I feel that these offerings are the physical manifestation of an evolutionary process. Anthropologically, we have not yet reached the point where we would truly be able to resist worshiping idols. It’s part of human instinct, and goes back to our “pagan” origins. For Orthodox Christians the votive offering is the subject of their prayers, while for Catholics it is a form of thanksgiving. An inner organ on the outside. I like looking at it. I’m in touch with my insides.

Na, erre fog emlékeztetni ez a mű, amely a szentimentalizmus maga, de mégis imádom.

I was never given to sentimentality, but now that I’m preparing to leave the country it envelops me from time to time. Are there any objects that are precious to me? From here? Maybe the soil, the earth itself. That is what this piece will remind me off. It is the very manifestation of sentimentality, but I love it anyway.

Egy brossban legyen elrejtve gyerekeim rajza vagy azoknak egy-egy darabja. A rajzok kb. 5 éve készültek, nem kérésre, nem irányított feladat megoldásra, nem nevezetes alkalomra (2010. február 7. hétköznap). Spontán gyermeki megnyilvánulások.
A rajzok egy darabja is elég, a többit becsben elrakom, de fontos, hogy bármilyen kis darab, de benne legyen.

I’d like my children’s drawings, or parts of them, to be hidden in a brooch. The drawings are from 5 years ago and were created spontaneously, not because I asked them to or for a special occasion (February 7, 2010, weekday).
A piece of each drawing is enough, I’ll keep the rest, but it’s important to me that one of each of my children’s drawings is in it.

Thewine is part of the story and interweaves with every aspect of it. Wehappened to be in Kővágóörs, and like a teenager I soaked thelabel off the bottle and kept it.
